Former Viper Pelley Announces Retirement:

Former Vernon Vipers forward Rod Pelley announced his retirement.

Pelley last played professional hockey in Romania during the 2019-20 season with Hoki Sport Club Csikszereda. 

Pelley played four years at Ohio State University(2002-2006) signed a two year entry-level contract with the New Jersey Devils. Pelley played parts of six years in the Devils organization (2006-2011) with the New Jersey Devils & American Hockey League Lowell Devils before being traded to the Anaheim Ducks in 2011. In 2013 Pelley ended up back in the Devils organization spent four years with the American Hockey League Albany Devils from 2013-2017.

Pelley played parts of one season in Vernon (2001-2002) The Vipers traded Mark Nelson & Tyler Scofield to Prince George January 10th 2001 for Josh Ciocco, Rod Pelley & Dan Rossi. Pelley played 19 regular season games with the Vipers, collecting (10-goals-8-assists-18-points).
