Idaho Steelheads Sign Ex Vernon Viper Fowlie:

The ECHL Idaho Steelheads have signed former Vernon Vipers forward Cody

Fowlie.

Fowlie played last year in Romania with the ASC Corona Brasov Wolves. The Wolves are a professional ice hockey team that was founded in 2007 and play in Brasov, Romania. In 43 games last season with the Wolves, Fowlie collected (30-goals-24-assists-54-points). 

Fowlie played five years at the University of Regina before signing his first professional contract with the ECHL Jacksonville Icemen February 15th 2018. Fowlie spent two seasons in Jacksonville before signing with the ASC Brasov Wolves June 10th 2019. The Icemen traded Fowlie to the ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones September 20th 2019. Fowlie never played a game with the Cyclones, played the 2019-20 season in Romania with the Wolves.

Fowlie played parts of three seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Everett Silvertips from 2010-2012 before being released. The Vipers signed Fowlie October 16th 2012. Fowlie played three games with the 2012-13 Vernon Vipers before leaving Vernon for the Western Hockey League Kelowna Rockets. The Rockets signed Fowlie October 22nd 2012. In three games with the Vipers, Fowlie recorded (1-goal-1-assist-2-points).

The Wild signed Hammond December 16th 2021. This is Hammond's seventh team since 2017. This is Hammond's second go around with the Wild after Minnesota signed the free agent July 1st 2018. The Wild sent Hammond to the American Hockey League where he spent the 2018-19 season with the American Hockey League Iowa Wild. Hammond spent last season with the Buffalo Sabres & American Hockey League Rochester Americans. Hammond went 16-12-5 in 33 games with the Americans last season posting a 2.81 GAA.

After four seasons at Bowling Green University, Hammond signed his first professional contract with the Ottawa Senators March 20th 2013. Hammond made his NHL debut February 27th 2014 vs Detroit. 

Hammond played parts of two seasons in Vernon (2007-2009) after coming over in a trade with the Surrey Eagles during the 2007-08 season. In 52 games with the Vipers, Hammond went 33-15-1 with six shutouts.

playing one more season of college hockey somewhere else next academic year.

former Vernon Vipers goaltender Reilly Herbst.

No official press release from the Brahmas but Herbst is no longer listed on the teams roster. The Brahmas signed Herbst in early January 2021. Herbst was one of four goaltenders listed on the Brahmas roster but never played a game before being released in early January.

Herbst was drafted 62nd overall in round 3 of the NAHL Entry Draft by the Jamestown Rebels.

Icemen Place Ex Viper Martin On Reserve:

The ECHL Jacksonville Icemen have placed former Vernon Vipers forward Craig

Martin on reserve.

ECHL Transactions - Dec. 18

Martin is in his second season with the Jacksonville Icemen. Martin started the 2019-20 season with the ECHL Adirondack Thunder was traded to Jacksonville November 26th 2019. Martin had two points with the Thunder. In 41 games last year Martin collected (7-goals-14-assists-21-points).

Martin spent four years at Quinnipiac University before signing his first professional contract with the American Hockey League Springfield Thunderbirds April 2nd 2019. Martin didn't play a game with the Thunderbirds was released before signing with the Adirondack Thunder July 8th 2019.

Martin played parts of two seasons in Vernon (2012-2014) was traded to Alberni Valley along with future considerations for Jared Wilson October 1st 2013. In 46 games with the Vipers Martin collected (10-goals-13-assists-23-points). Martin also played in the BCHL with Alberni Valley & Trail.
