Herbst is joining his second team this season. The North American Hockey League Lone Star Brahmas signed Herbst in January 2021. Herbst never played a game was released January 6th 2021.
Herbst was drafted 62nd overall in round 3 of the North American Hockey League Entry Draft by the Jamestown Rebels.
Herbst played parts of last season with the Vernon Vipers. The Vipers acquired Herbst October 10th 2019 from the United States Hockey League Chicago Steel. In 34 games with the Vipers, Herbst went 20-10 with 1 shutout and a 2.91 GAA
