Former Viper Dale Thriving With Eisadler Dortmund:

Former Vernon Vipers forward Brody Dale and his brother Brayden are playing their first season of pro hockey for Eisadler Dortmund in Germany’s Regionalliga.

Dale brothers thriving with Eisadler Dortmund | Kelowna Chiefs


Eisadler Dortmund is a professional ice hockey team based in Dortmund, Germany. The team was founded in 2009 and has since become a prominent force in the German ice hockey league. 

Dale played the past three seasons at Portage College before signing his first professional contract with Eisadler Dortmund in 2023.

Dale played parts of four seasons with the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League Kelowna Chiefs, Manitoba Junior Hockey League OCN Blizzard, BCHL Vernon Vipers & Alberta Junior Hockey League Grande Prairie Storm from 2015-2019.

Dale started the 2016-17 season with the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League Kelowna Chiefs, played eight games as an "AP" affiliated player with the 2016-17 Vernon Vipers before signing with the Vipers January 10th 2017. Dale finished the 2016-17 season with the Vipers, went pointless in 25 games. Dale was one of thirteen Vipers returning in 2017, was cut-released after training camp in August 2017 returned to the Kelowna Chiefs for the 2017-18 season.

Game Recap - Vernon 6 Powell River 2

I was born and raised in Vernon, BC and been watching/following Junior hockey in Vernon my whole life. My family watched Senior men's hockey in Vernon in the 1950's and has been watching Junior hockey in Vernon since it started in 1961. I have two family members that played Junior hockey in Vernon. I have had season tickets since 1990 and missed 5 home games since 2004 and 46 home games since 1990. I started and created this blog in November 2008 and have over 2.8 million viewers. Vernon Vipers Will Face Trail Smoke Eaters In Playoffs:

For the nineth time in franchise history the Vernon Vipers & Trail Smoke Eaters will meet in the BCHL playoffs. The last time the Vipers & Smoke Eaters met in the playoffs was in the 2nd round of the 2019 playoffs.

The Vipers went 1-4 vs Trail this season. The Smoke Eaters outscored the Vipers 17-10 in 5 games this season. The Vernon Vipers will finish 4th in the Interior Conference have a record of 32-19-2-0 are six points ahead of 5th place Trail and five points behind 3rd place Salmon Arm. The Trail Smoke Eaters will finish 5th in the Interior Conference have a record of 27-20-6-0 are twelve points ahead of the 6th place Merritt Centennials, are six points back of 4th place Vernon.

Game Recap - Prince George 6 Vernon 5 Overtime

I was born and raised in Vernon, BC and been watching/following Junior hockey in Vernon my whole life. I was at today's Vernon Vipers-Prince George Spruce Kings game as the Spruce Kings defeated Vernon 6-5 in overtime in front of 2,845 fans at Kal Tire Place.

Cyclones Trade Ex Viper Andrusiak To Florida:

The ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones have traded former Vernon Vipers forward

Zach Andrusiak to the 
Florida Everblades.

Andrusiak was in his third season with the Cyclones after re-signing with the Cyclones September 8th 2023. Andrusiak signed a Professional Try-out (PTO) with the American Hockey League Calgary Wranglers January 27th 2024 was returned to Cincinnati
January 29th 2024. The Cyclones loaned Andrusiak to Calgary Febraury 7th 2024 before the Wranglers returned Andrusiak back to the ECHL February 16th 2024. In 57 games with the Cyclones, Andrusiak collected (31-goals-31-assists-62-points).

Andrusiak split the 2022-23 season with the ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones & American Hockey League Manitoba Moose. Andrusiak signed a Professional Try-out (PTO) with the American Hockey League Manitoba Moose March 6th 2023 was released March 11th 2023 returning to Cincinnati.

Andrusiak played three seasons in the Western Hockey League from 2016-2019 with Tri-Cities, Seattle, Prince Albert & Everett before signing his first professional contract with the ECHL Idaho Steelheads August 8th 2019.

Andrusiak started the 2015-16 season with the Western Hockey League Tri-City Americans, was released early into the 2015-16 season. The Vernon Vipers signed Andrusiak October 1st 2015. Andrusiak was released November 5th 2015. In 15 games with the Vipers, Andrusiak collected (0-goals-2-assists-2-points).

Vipers Alumni Taylor Named To Second Team All-ECAC:

Former Vernon Vipers defenceman Trey Taylor has been named to the

2023-24 Second Team All-ECAC

Taylor has spent the past two seasons at Clarkson University. In 35 games this season, Taylor collected (4-goals-13-assists-17-points).

Taylor played three seasons in Vernon with the Vipers from 2018-2021 before leaving for the United States Hockey League Youngstown Phantoms. The Phantoms selected Taylor 31st overall May 28th 2021 in Round 3 in Phase 2 of the Unites States Hockey League Draft. Taylor played the 2021-22 season with the Phantoms before joining Clarkson University in 2022. 

Taylor played three seasons in Vernon with the Vipers from 2018-2021. In 125 games with the Vipers, Taylor collected (8-goals-32-assists-40-points).

former Vernon Vipers defenceman Christian Felton.

Felton spent the past three seasons at Merrimack College before signing his first professional contract with the Vancouver Canucks March 14th 2024.

Felton committed to Bentley University in November 2019 transferred from Bentley University to Merrimack College in June 2021.

Felton played one season in Vernon with the 2019-20 Vernon Vipers. Felton committed to the Vipers for the 2019-20 season in June 2019. In 50 games with the Vipers, Felton collected (5-goals-10-assists-15-points).

Fourteen years ago today (March 26th 2010) Penticton Vees forward Denver

Manderson scores at 7:14 of triple overtime, giving the Penticton Vees a 3-2 triple overtime victory over the Vernon Vipers in Game 5 of the Interior Conference Finals. Sean Bonar made 61 saves in the win, while Graeme Gordon made 60 saves in the loss in front of 2,815 fans at Wesbild Centre. Vernon would eventually win the best of seven playoff series 4 games to 2.

David Breaks Vernon Junior Hockey Franchise Shutout Record:

Vernon Vipers goaltender Ethan David recently broke the Vernon Junior

hockey franchise record for most career shutouts.

David passed former Vernon Vipers goaltenders Ty Taylor (2016-18) & Andrew Hammond (2007-09) both previously held the franchise record with 8 career shutouts each. 

David recorded his franchise record 9th career shutout after a 2-0 victory over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks January 24th 2024. David recently shutout Prince George 1-0 March 22nd 2024 now holds the Vernon Junior hockey franchise record with 10 career shutouts.

David is currently tied for 2nd in BCHL history with 10 career shutouts with Alex Evin & Brad Thiessen. Evin had 10 career shutouts with Powell River, Williams Lake & Penticton from 2003-2008, while Thiessen had 10 career shutouts with Penticton, Prince George & Merritt from 2003-2006). Michael Garteig holds the BCHL record with 12 career shutouts from 2009-2012 with Powell River & Penticton.

scored at 5:43 of overtime, giving the Vernon Vipers a 3-2 overtime win over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in Game 5 of the 2nd round best of seven playoff series. Kirby Halcrow made 24 saves in the win, while Kris Moore made 32 saves in the loss in front of 2,315 fans at Wesbild Centre. Vernon would eventually win the best of seven playoff series 4 games to 2.

Nelson scores at 5:57 of the fourth overtime, giving the Vernon Vipers a 3-2 overtime win over the Penticton Vees in Game 4 of the 2nd round of the BCHL playoffs. Jon Olthuis made 62 saves in the win, while Corey Milan made 60 saves in the loss in front of 1,933 fans at the Penticton Memorial Arena.
