The Pionniers De Chamonix-Morzine has signed
former Vernon Vipers defenceman Luke Juha.
Chamonix Hockey Club is a French ice hockey team based in Chamonix that last played in the Ligue Magnus in 2015. The team is also known as "Chamois de Chamonix" (Chamonix Chamois). With 30 championship titles, Chamonix is the most successful French club. The team was founded in 1910. In the 2010, the club celebrated its 100th birthday. In 2016 the team merged with Pingouins de Morzine-Avoriaz to form the Pionniers De Chamonix-Morzine
Juha played four years at Penn State University before signing a Amateur Tryout contract with the American Hockey League (AHL) Bridgeport Sound Tigers March 24th 2016 before agreeing to terms on one-year American Hockey League contract with the Sound Tigers July 5th 2016. Juha never played a game with Bridgeport, was loaned to the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) Missouri Mavericks. Juha would play all of last season with Missouri, playing in 43 games collected (1-goal-12-assists-13-points).
In 2015-16 Juha was up for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, was also one of nine Canadian Junior Hockey League alumni who were selected out of the twenty candidates for the 2015-16 Senior CLASS Award in collegiate hockey.
Juha played one season in Vernon (2011-12). Juha played in just ten games picking up two assists, missed most of the season due to two long term injuries. The Vipers acquired Juha from the OJHL Burlington Cougars on June 27th 2011 for future considerations.

First having announced in Dijon suite when getting off the Pioneers, the native of Sallanches makes its comeback in Haute Savoie. The native of Sallanches formed in Megève will bring all her experience in chamoniarde defensive. After Mount-white, Caen, Chamonix and Morzine, Numa will start his thirteenth season in the most of high level of French ice hockey. LUKE JUHA
Canadian player having a very good blow of ice skate and the first one passes very sure, Luke Juha arrives at the foot of the Mount-white with firm intention to cross a cape in his career. Last season, it evolved in ECHL in Missouri Mavericks, after four prolific academic years in NCAA. First European experience for this player of 24 years in nice size (90 kg for 180cm).
VINCENT MELIN
