The Snakes are coming off a 5-3 pre-season victory over the visiting Trail Smoke Eaters Saturday. The Snakes don't return to Salmon Arm until December 8th. The 0-0-0-0 Salmon Arm Silverbacks open their 17th season in the BC Hockey League, are coming off a 5-1 pre-season win over the West Kelowna Warriors Saturday. Tonight's the first of six regular season meetings with the Vipers after the Silverbacks went winless in seven games vs Vernon last season. The Backs will play seven of their first nine games at home, were 11-14-2-2 on home ice last year. SA has thirteen players returning from last year. The Silverbacks have revamped their coaching staff over the off season. Out is head coach Misko Antisin and assistant coach Darrell Hay from last season, in is new head coach Scott Atkinson & former Silverbacks captain David Killip as the new assistant coach. The Backs made several trades over the off season, dealing away veteran players. Grayson Constable will wear the "C" for the Silverbacks this coming season.
