I watched tonight's game online. The Vipers struggled early and often, looked disorganised and had all kinds of troubles in their own end, moving the puck, passing and causing several turnovers all in the opening period. Michael Ufberg really struggled, wich isn't normal for him. Ty Taylor had to be sharp, made a few big stops in the 1st keeping the Snakes in the game. Vernon seemed to slowly turn things around in the 2nd period but fell behind 1-0. The Vipers couldn't solve John Hawthorne who was solid between the pipes for the Bulldogs. The Vipers at times, couldn't seem to catch a break-bounce. Alberni Valley blocked a lot of shots, were in the shooting lanes and diddnt give the Viper forwards much room in and around the front of the net at times. A huge penalty kill, killing off a five minute major in the middle frame. Vernon would eventually tie the game on a wild goal mouth scramble and outplayed the Dogs for a lot of that 3rd period. AV come on strong towards the end of the 3rd and played better into overtime. Both goaltenders looked-played very well. The Vipers didn't look very good, struggled through out the night. Mark Ferner and the coaching staff wont be too pleased but will take the single point. From the camera angles, it didn't look like many people were at tonight's game. No atmosphere-music between whistles. Was very strange watching the game with just a few people in the stands. I really enjoy watching Viper games online from Prospera Place, the camera work and quality is great! I love the instant replays and scoreboard at the top of the screen. Vipers with a quick turn around and a tough test tomorrow afternoon vs a very good Powell River Kings team.
