Sadly, it sounds like the Glens will continue to own the Vipers. On the positive side with Penticton leaving the BCHL, the Vipers could move up one spot in the standings, by default.
He said “Junior A team”, now, I know the league has distanced itself for that moniker. So, now I am wondering, is he hinting at maybe, just maybe re-entering a Junior A league, as in KIJHL in 2026-27. That is the year the new Junior A Tier 1 leagues are to be formed, one in the PJHL and one in the KIJHL, both those leagues will operate as Tier 1 & 2 leagues.
I can see why Glen feels good for the vees and there move in the right direction. I feel sorry for the glens as they would love to make improvements within the arena but every time they city of vernon puts up road blocks as they seem to no better with there little power game of my way or the highway. The glens would like to do great things with even putting up there own money causing the city nothing but everytime well maybe, I don't no or maybe next year. It would be nice if the city of vernon gave the hockey owner alittle more flex as to getting things done on his wish list. It would be better for the fans and the city. Oh well its a waiting game. Keep trying Glens and maybe just maybe????
And the pain continues!!! It doesn't sound like the Glen's will be selling the Vipers anytime soon. What a shame.
Does this a clown listen to his own words and recognize how stupid he sounds...
"Penticton does a good job of recruiting, identifying players". Yes they do but what is stopping Glen from hiring professional people to scout and recruit?
"Winning teams ... players get players". Also true but how many of the Viper players, past (5 years) and present, would recommend Vernon as a good place for their friends and family to play? Players who are chasing scholarships want good coaching, to play to their strengths and to work on their game deficiencies. Is Glen providing the kind of atmosphere that players are looking for in order to give themselves the best chance at success? I sadly doubt it and also doubt any player is singing the praises of the Viper's program.
"Continually roll out a winning team, players gravitate towards it". You, Mr Glen, took over one of the top Junior franchises in Canada but you have royally screwed it up. Instead of hiring professional scouts, recruiters, coaches, GM's etc you decided to saddle this once proud franchise with your gross incompetence. As an owner, that is your prerogative but it has been a complete failure, time to climb into the back seat and let the adults sit in the front seat and drive the bus.
Well put Marty. Like you said we were the "Standard " before the Glenn's bought the team. They completely forgot to count the banners hanging in the arena which includes 6 National Championships. John Glenn is a total incompetent person when it comes to hockey and his track record or lack of it proves that.

Only PJHL will have a tier 1 league for 25-26 season. They won’t compete nationally as they will not be part of the CJHL

The whole point of the Junior A Tier 1 is to compete for the Centennial Cup so, where is it said otherwise!

Amen brother
Agree what’s the point of creating the new league in BC but sadly next season they will only compete in BC amongst the 7 teams.
