Thanks, DieHard I was going to post something similar, the NA means Not Applicable because they had no Ties those years!

Teams with a worst Winning % than this years Vipers with 27.78%. The winning percentage formula is Ties X .5, then add Wins, then divide by Games Played
1961-62 - 25.86% - Canadians, Coach Odie Lowe
1965-66 - 15.00% - Blades, Coach Odie Lowe
1977-78 - 15.15% - Vikings, Coach Greg Kvisle
1980-81 - 14.29% - Lakers, Coachs, Russ Newton & Gary Criss
1981-82 - 22.34 - Lakers, Coach Gord MacBeth

Wow, STATs don't lie, another dismal season is in the books. Thank you VDHF for this BLOG and especially for all of your research and hard work. You are appreciated. This BLOG gives us good game recaps but also a vehicle to give our comments and thoughts.

I will not criticize John Glen personally, I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he may be a decent guy. Heck, I probably could share lots of hockey opinions with him over a beer. Although, he probably wouldn't agree with me on a lot. I could also share my business thoughts, especially how integrity, loyalty and respect are a big part of running a successful business. Mr Glen, look no further than the Penticton Vees organization that you sung praise to. Maybe it is time to take some of what positives you see and incorporate them into the Vipers organization.

I will however criticize his business acumen, specifically his hockey acumen. He has taken one of the finest hockey franchises in Canada and reduced it to shambles. Overseeing this business has been a failure, please wake up and smell the coffee. There is only one common denominator in all facets of this business, from scouting to recruiting to coaching. The answer is in the mirror.

A coach/GM at this level of hockey doesn't only need to know how to handle kids and teach them details of the game, he has to be able to recruit. He has to have contacts over North America and maybe even Europe, who can recommend kids to Vernon. Troy Mick, Mike Vandekamp, and Mark Ferner all had contacts and having an owner like Duncan Wray who stayed out of hockey and was such a gentleman that kids wanted to come here. Find a coach with contacts and stay out of his way. There is still a large fan base here. Putting another team together like this last one would be just strip mining the fans' wallets for an easy profit.

Every week or so we see a BCHL News story on Diehard's blog, and we thank him for everything he does to make this site. The news is largely about players commiting to BCHL teams for next season and we can also look at the BCHL site and see new recruits coming to teams. But no news about players who have commited to coming to Vernon. And you can be sure that these commited players are the elite players. We're out of the playoffs and will have a lot of openings on the team next season but we've heard very little so far. Get a new coach in place and get him working before all the good recruits are taken.

Exactly right! There’s is no question the word is out about how this team is run. Unless a change is made immediately, it will be the same situation next year. And the players who left (with Lomicky retaining their rights) will never return if he’s still the coach.

Hey PaulyWog54 your story brought up the name Odie Lowe I haven't heard for a long time. He moved to Cranbrook and a small baseball/softball field was named after him as he played a big party in the operation of the ball field. The field has since been gone for over 20 years.

He was a player coach for the Senior Vernon Canadians for many years before coaching the Juniors….His Vernon Junior Franchise record is
Regular Season 408 games, 200 wins, 184 losses & 24 ties
Playoffs 65 games, 23 wins, 42 losses
