Hanson is in his first season at the University of Conneticut. In 18 games this season, Hanson is 9-9 with a 2.56 GAA
Due to COVID-19 Hanson decided not to play hockey last season. Hanson played three seasons at Union College from 2017-2020 transfered to the University of Conneticut in Decemember 2020.
Hanson was nominated for the Hobey Baker award in 2020 and was invited to the Philadelphia Flyers development camp in 2017, the Toronto Maple Leafs development camp in 2018 and the Buffalo Sabres development camp in 2019.
Hanson played parts of one season in Vernon with the 2016-17 Vernon Vipers. The Vipers acquired Hanson in a trade with the United States Hockey League Youngstown Phantoms November 18th 2016. (No details on the trade were announced).
