Johnson was recruited by the Vernon Vipers, committed to the Vipers June 8th 2020 played parts of two seasons in Vernon from 2020-2021. The Vipers traded Nicholas Remissong, Desmond Johnson, Braden Smith and future considerations to the Merritt Centennials November 30th 2021 for Luke Lavery and Talon Zakall. In 36 games with the Vipers, Johnson collected (1-goal-7-assists-8-points).
