The difference between winning and losing can be a fine line. When it comes to the intangibles of the game these two players have it in spades. Block a shot, kill a penalty, or make a save the winners of the Unsung Hero Award are Reilly Herbst and Christian Felton

Congrats to both Reilly & Christian! Two very good additions to the Vipers this year. Felton was that smooth skating defenceman that didn't make a lot of mistakes, was good at both ends of the rink. I thought was one of the more consistent d-men for the Snakes this past season. What can you say about Reilly Herbst! The Vipers had troubles keeping a backup goaltender for most of the season. Jason McKee goes out and acquires Reilly Herbst and no better timing as the night he arrives in Vernon, Max Palaga gets injured and is forced to leave the game and Herbst never looks back. Reilly made a huge impact with the Vipers and was if not the teams MVP in my minds. This kid carried the Snakes on his backs a lot of nights. I have to wonder if it wasn't for Herbst, the Vipers wouldn't have had nearly as many wins on some nights. Herbst did struggle after Christmas and wasn't the game goaltender, I don't know if he lost his confidence or was battling a sickness or some kind of nagging injury but he wasn't the same goaltender as the Vipers rotated goaltenders often to finish the season. Whatever the case was, Reilly returned for the playoffs and was lights out. Best of luck at Bentley University Christian and looking forward to Herbst returning as a 20 year old this coming season. Congrats on this award!
