Eleven years ago today (April 8th 2009) In Game 4 of the BCHL League Finals best of seven series vs the Powell River Kings, Powell River took a 2-1 lead into the 3rd period before Braden Pimm tied the game at 3:13 of the 3rd period. The two teams went scoreless the next two periods before Sahir Gill scored at 5:31 of the third overtime, giving the hometown Vipers a 3-2 triple overtime victory and a 3-1 series lead. Vernon outshot Powell River 70-43 Andrew Hammond made 41 saves in the win, while Carsen Chubak made 67 saves in the loss in front of 2,564 fans at Wesbild Centre. The Snakes would eventually win the series in six games, winning the Fred Page Cup for a franchise record tenth time and advance to the Doyle Cup vs the Grande Prairie Storm.
