On This Day In Vernon Vipers History:

Fifteen years ago today (April 7th 2005) In Game 5 of the Interior division Finals best of seven series vs the Prince George Spruce Kings. The hometown Vipers jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Cody Bostock & Mickey McCrimmon before the Spruce Kings tied the game in the 2nd period. Troy Cherwinski's goal at 13:00 of the 3rd period was the game winner as Vernon defeated Prince George 4-3 winning the series 4-1. Vernon outshot Prince George 47-31 Jon Olthuis made 28 saves in the win, while Brad Thiessen made 43 saves in the loss in front of 2,561 fans at Vernon's Multi-Plex. With the win the Vipers would advance to the BCHL League Finals vs the Surrey Eagles. This was Vernon's seventh trip to the League finals in the past ten years.
