The 0-0-0-0 Vernon Vipers are coming off a 3-2 shootout victory over the visiting Salmon Arm Silverbacks Saturday. The Snakes finished the pre-season with a 3-0-0-1 record. The Vipers have nine players back from last year's team. The Vipers open the 2018-19 regular season at home, will play seven of their first eleven games on home ice. Vernon went 2-0 at Kal Tire Place in exhibition were 1-0-0-1 on the road in the pre-season. Jagger Williamson, Mitch Andres, Carver Watson and Austin Chorney are all out of the lineup. In three home games vs the Wild last season the Snakes went 2-1 while going 1-2 in Wenatchee. These two teams will meet six times again this year with the first three games in Vernon. The Snakes dont travel to Wenatchee until December 21st.

Let's take a look at the Wenatchee Wild:

The 0-0-0-0 defending BCHL/Doyle Cup champion Wenatchee Wild make their first of three visits to Kal Tire Place, are coming off a 5-1 victory Saturday night in Penticton finishing the pre-season with a 2-1-1-0 record. These two teams met in the second round of last year's BCHL playoffs with the Wild defeating the Snakes in six games. Wenatchee went on to claim their first Fred Page Cup championship with a series win over Prince George. The Wild went on to clinch their first Doyle Cup with a series win over the AJHL Spruce Grove Saints before falling in the semi-finals at the RBC Cup in Chilliwack. The Wild have eight players back from last year's championship team open the 2018-19 regular season with an eleven game road trip. The Wild's home opener isn't until October 12th vs Nanaimo. Wenatchee will play twelve of their first thirteen games on the road. The Wild unveiled a new logo and jerseys for this season. These two teams will meet again on the 28th in Vernon.
