I missed the first two periods of todays game. I caught and watched the 3rd period online. It was very hard and difficult to watch the game on Hockey TV as the game kept pausing for a few seconds about every twenty seconds and then the video would go all blurry on and off through out the 3rd period. I was forced into turning off the game and listening to the remainder of the game on radio.
Vipers jump out to a quick 1-0 lead just over a minute into the game, but would give up back to back late powerplay goals before the end of the 1st. No scoring for the remainder of the game. The Vipers lack of scoring has shown, with the Snakes only scoring three or more goals once in their last seven games, have only managed a goal a game in both of their last two games.
The Express win the season series 2-0
Express play by play guy Eddie Gregory mentioned this could be a first round playoff match up. If Coquitlam stays ahead of Cowichan in the overall league standings and Vernon clinches the Interior Division, these two teams will meet in the first round.
Vernon has struggled in the New Year, have just three wins in January. The Vipers have lost five of their last eight games and drop to 2nd place in the Interior Division. For the first time since mid October the Vipers are not in 1st place. Penticton and Vernon are tied in points, with the Vees claiming top spot due to less games played.
It's amazing how the Vees are still fighting for top spot and in the hunt for 1st place after all the injuries they have had. At one point Penticton was ten points back of Vernon who was in 1st place. The Vees with three games in hand.
Things don't get any easier, as the Vipers play three games in three days next weekend and will play four games in six days next weekend/week.
