Cavan committed to the Vernon Vipers June 3rd 2020 didn't play any pre-season games at the Okanagan Cup. Cavan was listed on the Vernon Vipers reserve roster during the exhibition games.

Cavan had a commitment from Merrimack for 2021-22. With the NCAA giving another year of eligibility to their players, a few Vipers have had their commitment put off for a year. Trey Taylor, Cam Macdonald, Sam Duerr, and Zach Tonelli were all at one time committed to start NCAA in 2021-22, but now they are all shown on the Vipers' site as 2022-23. Looks like they all could be back in the fall.
During the pregame show between the Vipers & Salmon Arm Silverbacks tonight, Jason McKee said Liam had season ending surgery.
