Cooper named Subway BCHL POW

Coquitlam Express defenceman Drew Cooper has been named the Subway BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 9.
The Express captain led all BCHL blueliners in scoring last week. with six points in two games and led the entire league in points-per-game.
On Tuesday, Cooper had a goal and two assists as Coquitlam cruised to a 9-4 win on the road against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. On Saturday at home against the Victoria Grizzlies, the Ann Arbor, Mich. native put in a repeat performance with another goal and two assists and was named the game’s first star as Coquitlam skated to a 6-3 victory.
With points in his last three contests, Cooper has overtaken the team lead in scoring by defencemen and has climbed into a tie for fifth overall in the BCHL with 35 points in 52 games. His 10 goals also tie him for second in the league among blueliners.
