Transaction Alert – Vipers Bring in Goalie from USHL
October 10, 2019
Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the addition of goaltender Reilly Herbst from the USHL.
Herbst is a 2000 born goaltender from Niwot, Colorado. He spent last season with the Chicago Steel where he posted a 12-7-2 record with a 3.01 goals against average and an .881 Sv%.
“Reilly has a tremendous work ethic. He should come in and really solidify our goaltending tandem for the season,” says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee.
Reilly will be in Vernon this weekend to join his new team when they take on the Merritt Centennials and Chilliwack Chiefs at Kal Tire Place.

I wonder whatever happened to Dawson Pelletier? I heard rumors at the Vipers game he left the team due to personal reasons. I'm glad the Vipers have filled the backup spot and so far after two games, I have been very impressed with Reilly Herbst. He's not a big goaltender but plays his position very well, doesn't give up many if any second or third chances and plays his angles very well. He looks and plays calm and has looked very good so far. It will be interesting to see if Herbst continues to play well, will he take over the #1 job?
