Hanson is in his first season at the University of Conneticut. Due to COVID-19 Hanson decided not to play hockey last season. In Decemeber 2020 Hanson transfered from Union College to the University of Connecticut.
Hanson played three seasons at Uninon College from 2017-2020.
Hanson was nominated for the Hobey Baker Award in 2020 and was invited to the Philadelphia Flyers development camp in 2017, the Toronto Maple Leafs development camp in 2018 & the Buffalo Sabres development camp in 2019.
Hanson played parts of one season in Vernon with the 2016-17 Vernon Vipers. The United States Hockey League Youngstown Phantoms traded Hanson to Vernon November 18th 2016. (No details of trade were announced).
