I watched the Vipers/Bulldogs game online this evening. The Vipers & Graham Turnbull were having technical difficulties with the broadcast on hockey tv so I had to listen to The Hammer on the Bulldogs broadcast.
The Vipers road trip contnued in Alberni Valley tonight and what a hockey game the Bulldogs fans witnessed. This was a very good and entertaining hockey game. I thought as the game went on, the Vipers took over the edge in play and carried the better of the play at times. Vernon dominated the 3rd period but couldn't come away with the two points. I thought Zach Tonelli scored the game winner in the shootout but the Bulldogs broadcast said the goaltender made the first save before Tonelli scored on the rebound, which is not allowed in the shootout. Both goaltenders were solid between the pipes. The Snakes hit two posts and had several very good looks/quality chances in the 3rd period and in overtime but couldn't find the back of the net. Both teams played hard in a game where I thought the Snakes should have won. A tough loss. After winning three straight games, the Vipers have lost back to back games.
A quick turn around as Vernon plays in Cowichan tomorrow afternoon vs the 1-7 Capitals. Going by the Capitals record, this is a must win for Vernon.
