Vipers Place Palaga on Long Term IR
November 28, 2019
Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers have placed goaltender Max Palaga on the long term injured reserve list.
The 19 year old Kamloops product suffered the injury in a game against Merritt on October 11th.
“This type of hip injury will require a number of months of rehabilitation before it is back to where Max needs it,” says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee.
Max was extremely important to the team early in the season starting the first 10 in a row. He posted a goals against average of 2.77 and a save percentage of .899.
Palaga will be eligible to return next season for his final year of junior hockey.
The Vipers will settle in with their current goaltending tandem of Reilly Herbst and James Porter Jr.
The Vipers would like to wish Max all the best in his recovery and look forward to seeing him back next season.

A tough loss for the Vipers and a bad break for Max. Max just can't seem to catch a break in his junior hockey career, had troubles staying with one team for a full season and now this long term injury.
I was excited to hear Max was returning this year, after how well he played with the Vipers for a short period of time last year. Let's hope he recovers and comes to training camp in the summer ready to battle as a 20 yr old between the pipes. The Vipers are very lucky they acquired Reilly Herbst the day before Max got injured and now recently James Porter, Jr. If Porter, Jr stays in Vernon and doesn't leave for the Moose Jaw Warriors, the Vipers have a pretty strong goaltending duo.
I HOPE PORTER STAYS
He is staying.
Two best goalie tandem in the league! If it wasn't for them the Vipers would be in the basement! You cant win scoring one goal a game! They got rid of Tyler Ho and he has 5 goals for Penticton including 2 game winners! Sleeth has done nothing 3 goals! Barlevwise and Glen 0 goals combined!
