Vipers Acquire Nicholas Kent

June 14, 2019

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce they have acquired the Junior A playing rights to defenceman Nicholas Kent for future considerations.

“He’s a very dynamic skater who has an extremely high hockey IQ and makes a fantastic first pass,” says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee.

McKee goes on to say, “We’re extremely excited to have Nick join the Vipers and know he will fit in well on our blueline.”

Kent, a product of Ladera Ranch, California spent last season splitting time with the Buffalo Jr. Sabres of the OJHL and the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL.

The 2001 born defenseman is committed to Quinnipiac  University and is no stranger to the BCHL having played 24 games with the Wenatchee Wild in 2017-18.

It has been almost two weeks since the Vipers started to announce their list of six new players/new recruits for the up coming season as well as naming a new captain and still no coverage from the Vernon Morning Star newspaper. The Morning Star's coverage on the Vipers sucks! Since about Christmas the coverage on the Vipers has been a bare minimum and sometime's two newspapers with no Vipers report. I think it was the opening round of the playoffs vs Salmon Arm and the Morning Star didn't have a single report-write up on the Vipers for a whole week. I know it's 2019 and not many people read the local papers anymore, but some people still do. Some senior citizens and people without a computer, still enjoy reading the paper. Wake up Morning Star!

Kevin Mitchell is still listed as the Sports Editor at the Morning Star but unfortunately has not been on the job for quite some time. He was totally dedicated to the coverage of the Vipers and did an excellent job. But as too your point there definitely should be someone else doing a better job than what's been happening in the last 6 months

Perhaps and I am not suggesting yourself or the vipers organization BUT someone should provide the morning star with some information about the current goings on as it would appear that they have some internal problems of which we the vipers fans are not aware of.Who knows what is going on. I think before we jump all over them , maybe we should find out what the problem is and ask how we can help as to providing better info in our morning star paper. It is something to think about. GO, VIPERS, GO.
