Brett Fudger, Power Forward
June 5, 2019
Vernon, BC: Head Coach Jason McKee is pleased to announce that Brett Fudger has committed to the Vipers for the upcoming season.
“We liked what we saw in Brett during our spring camp,” says Coach McKee. “Brett is big and strong. He skates well and he plays the game the right way.”
Viper fans will see a throwback in Brett Fudger – names like Aaron Volpatti, Chris Crowell, and Jesse Lansdell come to mind. With the Cariboo Cougars Midget team this past season, Brett played what he describes as “a big-sized character role, heavy on the forecheck, a gritty style of play.”
The 18-year-old resident of Prince Rupert is 6’1″ and currently 185 pounds. Expect him to be bigger by training camp in late August because as he puts it, “I’m working hard in the gym every day.” He was really impressed by the new gym at Kal Tire Place, where he will train starting in mid-July when he moves to Vernon.
The fact that he will arrive in town well in advance of training camp says something about his level of dedication. He knows that hard work is his key to success and in his words he’s keen to “go as far as I can in hockey, to prove to myself and others that I have what it takes.”
