June 5, 2019
Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are very pleased to announce that Connor Marritt has committed to Northern Michigan University for the 2020-21 Season.
“I’m very excited to commit to this school. They have an excellent coaching staff and great facilities,” says Marritt. “Marquette is a beautiful place and I can’t wait to get started and become a member of the Wildcat family.”
Marritt, who played his minor hockey in Vernon, had a break out season on a line with Josh Latta and Matt Kowalski. Connor rang up a career high 13 goals and 27 assists finishing tied for 4th on the team in offense with 40 points. He would go on to add 8 points as he helped his team to a Fred Page Cup Finals appearance.
Connor will be returning to the Vipers this coming season for his final season of junior hockey before making the leap to college.

Congrats Connor! This is big news getting Connor Marritt back for another year. Marritt will be entering his third season with the Vipers. I thought Connor Marritt improved last season, got better as the season went along and had a heck of a run in the second half of the season and into the playoffs. Marritt will be accounted on for leadership and scoring this coming season. Jack Judson & Coleton Bilodeau are the other two Vipers also returning for a third season. Matt Kowalski is returning for a second season with the Vipers but will be a five year BCHL veteran. Will Connor Marritt or Matt Kowalski be the new captain?
