Men's Ice Hockey | 11/12/2018

ALBANY, N.Y. – For the second time this season, Union College sophomore Darion Hanson has been named ECAC Hockey's Goalie of the Week.

The East Bethel, Minn., native posted 34 saves to help Union defeat No. 13 Quinnipiac, 5-1, this past Saturday. A total of 16 of his 34 saves were made in the second period alone, as Quinnipiac out-shot the Dutchmen 35-23 in the contest. His efforts in net also helped the Union penalty kill go a perfect three-for-three on the night.

Hanson was previously named Goalie of the Week on Oct. 22 and he helped Union sweep then-No. 12 Northeastern.

Union is idle this upcoming weekend, but will take to the ice during Thanksgiving break in Northern Ireland, as the Dutchmen open the 2018 Friendship Four Tournament with a game against Yale on Nov. 23.
