Two would-be-seniors, Vinny Scotti and Sean Robertson, will not be returning to the Merrimack College hockey program.
Scotti, a Vineland, NJ native and Gunnery alum, had a goal and six assists in 30 games played last season. In his three years in a Warriors uniform, Scotti posted 12 goals and 19 assists in 95 career games. Scotti graduated early, according to Mike McMahon of College Hockey News.
Robertson played in 11 games as a freshman, but did not see action at all as a sophomore or junior. The Cobble Hill, British Columbia native also graduated a year early and will pursue options outside of hockey, according to a source.
When reached for comment, Merrimack coach Mark Dennehy declined to speak on the specifics due to [HIPPA] laws, but said neither departure was hockey related.
Merrimack finished the 2014-15 season with a record of 16-18-4, losing to eventual Hockey East champion Boston University in the league quarterfinals. Dennehy's squad, the 12th seed entering the post-season, upset Northeastern in the first round.
