Former Viper Defenceman Ashton Second In Rivermen Scoring:

Former Vernon Vipers defenceman Luke Ashton is second in team

scoring with the Langley Rivermen. In 29 games, Ashton has (11-goals-11-assists-22-points).

The Vernon Vipers traded Ashton & forward Copeland Fricker to the Langley Rivermen June 29th 2023 for forwards Owen Kim & Walker Gelbard. 


The United States Hockey League Sioux City Musketeers selected Ashton in May 2023 233rd overall in Round 16 at the USHL Draft.


Ashton played the past two seasons in Vernon. In 81 games with the Vipers, Ashton collected (2-goals-7-assists-9-points).

Nice to hear Luke is having a good year with Langley. I assume the Vipers are very happy with their side of the trade as Owen Kim has been huge for us. What ever happened to Walker Gelbard though? Is he still playing?
