I would like to see the City of Vernon and the Vernon Vipers add some display cases to Kal Tire Place like this, on the history of Junior hockey in Vernon. The Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame has some stuff on Vernon Junior hockey, but not enough. It would be great to see all of the Vipers past jerseys on display, photo's, game used sticks/jerseys on display from the great history of Vernon junior hockey over the past sixty years.
Great idea VDHF but this will never happen with the City of Vernon. You have probably noticed that in any other BCHL rink you walk into you'll find the local team photos and history displayed for fans to see and enjoy. I know for a fact these ideas have been presented to the city by past and present ownership and been REJECTED.
It was a mistake to let the city take control with its city union people in charge as nothing gets done and the viper hockey management hands are tyed. Bad decision sad so sad
The city built the rink. They've always had control of the rink. The Vipers are tenants. And aren't there some display cases in the rink already?
