I watched tonight's game on the computer.
This was an entertaining and exciting game. The Vipers controlled a lot of the play and were the better team in the 1st period, but Trail turned the tables and were the better team in the 2nd period. Both teams went back and fourth in the 3rd and overtime with both goaltenders making some big saves. One of the more exciting overtimes this season.
What happened to the Trail Smoke Eaters? Trail has lost nine straight and ten of their last eleven games.
The Vipers went from near the bottom of the league standings to now one of the hottest teams, playing their best hockey of the season. The Snakes have won fourteen of their last seventeen games. Vernon has played one goal games in fourteen of their last sixteen games. No matter what the situation is, this Viper team is playing with a ton of confidence right now and continue to win hockey games. Vernon could be scary to face come the playoffs.
Go Vipers Go!
Trail had three goaltenders injured for most of late January and most of February and their goals against soared. They gave up 10 once and 8 a couple of times.
Trail is down to playing Junior B backups....
