I watched the Vipers-Smoke Eaters game on the computer tonight.

Well for most of the game, Trail was the better team. The Smoke Eaters carried the play for a lot of the game, had more puck possession, zone time, shots, opportunities and power plays. The Vipers were outplayed for lengthy times through out the hockey game. The Smoke Eaters couldn't capitalize on the PP and their opportunities. The Vipers lost three players tonight, took a lot of penalties, were outplayed for a lot of the game. Vernon's penalty kill and goaltending was the difference. The Viper PK was very good and Roan Clarke was solid between the pipes, keeping his team in the contest. Give the Snakes a ton of credit for battling through some adversity, playing shorthanded for a lot of the night and playing down three forwards. The Vipers stepped up their game, blocked a ton of shots, battled/competed and pulled out a very gutsy effort and win on the road.

Jason Mckee said during the pre-game show that Cameron MacDonald will be out long term with an injury. This is a huge loss to the Vipers!

The Snakes were playing their fourth game in eight days, needed to take advantage of a Trail team that has been struggling. Prior to tonight, the Smoke Eaters had lost nine of their past thirteen games.

Who is this team? After back to back losses to Salmon Arm at New Years, I would have never seen this Viper team winning seven in a row and playing as well as they are now. I'm completely shocked! Those trades/deals at the BCHL trade deadline worked and have changed the identity of this Viper team who hasn't lost since the trade deadline. The Vipers were terrible the first three months of the season and I didn't see this team turning things around like they have. I didn't see this team going anywhere this year. For the first time this season, it's fun and exciting watching the Vipers play.

Go Vipers Go!

Nice to see the Vipers putting together some wins. Hopefully they can climb up the standings a bit to get a chance at a decent playoff run. If the team keeps improving and winning, I will be there to support the boys come playoff time.
Thanks for the recap DieHard

As Booby C says “Goaltending will be the difference “ !!

Outshot 51-19 and yet they won the game. It's no surprise that Roan Clarke was the first star of the game. And he's only 18. If he keeps playing like he has, he's going to get a scholarship offer if that's what he's after. I wonder if he's on a WHL protected list.

Lose Jack Glenn and go on a winning streak. Just imagine what the Vipers could do without Johnny Boy!!!
