Coach/GM Jason Williamson will be returning to the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Grand Prairie Storm this fall for a second season as the teams Director of Scouting & Recruitment. Williamson joined the Storm last season in May 2020.

Before joining the Storm Williamson spent the past seven seasons as Director of Scouting & Recruitment with the Nanaimo Clippers, Cowichan Capitals. Williamson also spent the 2015-16 season as Head Coach of the Okanagan Rockets before leaving the team in April 2016. 

Williamson played four seasons at Niagara University before retiring from professional hockey in 2007 after playing one season in the Central Hockey League with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. 

Williamson played three seasons in Vernon from 1999-2002. Williamson was captain of the Vipers in his last two seasons. Williamson & former Vernon Vipers forwards Chris Crowell (2005-2009) & Jagger Williamson (2014-2019) are the only Vipers ever to be captain in back to back seasons. Williamson returned to Vernon in 2008 as an Assistant Coach with the Vipers from 2008-2011 before being named Head Coach/GM in 2011. Williamson was Head Coach/GM from 2011-2014 before stepping down/resigning as Head Coach/GM after two exhibition games into the 2014-15 season. Williamson is fifth on the Vernon Vipers all-time coaches wins list with 81 victories as Head Coach.

Williamson joins former Vernon Vipers Head Coach/GM Mike Vandekamp who is the Head Coach/GM of the Grande Prairie Storm.

This is Vandekamps second stint with the Grande Prairie Storm. Vandekamp spent four seasons as Head Coach/GM of the Storm from 2007-2011 before re-joining the team in 2020. 

Vandekamp will be entering his second straight season with the Grande Prairie Storm after spending the previous two seasons as Head Coach/GM with the Cowichan Capitals. 

Vandekamp was Head Coach/GM of the Vernon Vipers from 2001-2005 before leaving the team for the Western Hockey League's Prince George Cougars. After two seasons in Prince George Vandekamp has coached in Grande Prairie, Nanaimo & Cowichan.
