for the NHL Expansion Draft. Former Vernon Vipers goaltender Andrew Hammond was left unprotected and now available on Wednesday's NHL Expansion Draft.

Hammond didn't play a single game last season was left on the Minnesota Wild's taxi squad. Hammond was in his first season with the Wild after signing a one year-two way contract as a free agent December 16th 2020.
The Wild was Hammond's seventh team since 2017. This was Hammond's second stint with the Wild after Minnesota signed Hammond as a free agent July 1st 2018.
Hammond hasn't played a game since the 2019-20 season where he split the season between the Buffalo Sabres & American Hockey League Rochester Americans.
Hammond played four years at Bowling Green University before signing his first professional contract with the Ottawa Senators March 20th 2013. Hammond made his NHL debut February 27th 2014 vs Detroit. Hammond recorded his first career NHL victory February 18th 2015 making 42 saves in a 4-2 win over Montreal.
Hammond played parts of two seasons in Vernon (2007-2009). The Vipers acquired Hammond from the Surrey Eagles during the 2007-08 season. In 52 games with the Vipers, Hammond went 33-15-1 with 6 shutouts.
