Williamson Ties/Breaks Vernon Junior Hockey Records:

Vernon Vipers captain/forward Jagger Williamson played in career game #230 tonight in the Vipers 7-5 victory in West Kelowna. Williamson past former Vernon Vipers forward Rob Short for second place on Vernon junior hockey's all-time games played list. Short a Vernon product played with the Vipers from 2005-2010 was the first Vernon junior hockey player to have his jersey retired. Short's jersey #20 was retired in September 2010. Williamson is only three games away from tying former Vernon Lakers/Vipers forward Garth Gartner (1994-1998) who is atop the list on Vernon junior hockey's all-time games played list with 233.

Williamson took a roughing minor at 5:53 of the 1st period tonight, passes former Vernon Vipers defenceman Adam Stewart (1995-1998) with 150 career penalty minutes, moving into 71st on Vernon junior hockey's all-time penalty minutes leader.

Williamson scored his 10th goal of the season at 15:26 on the powerplay in the 3rd period tonight, passes former Vernon junior hockey greats, Dustin Whitecotton-Vernon Lakers/Vipers 1993-96 & John Neeld-Vernon Vikings-1978-79 with his 53rd junior hockey career goal. All three players were tied with 52 career goals prior to tonight's game. Williamson with 53 junior hockey career goals is now tied with former Vernon Vipers forwards Curtis Fraser (2002-03) and Brent Dodginghorse (1995-97) is 36th on Vernon junior hockey's all-time goals list.

The Best leader to ever wear the "C" for Vernon

Should the Vipers retire Williamson's jersey #11? What other former Vernon junior hockey greats number's should be retired?

"The best leader to ever wear the C for Vernon". Wow, that is a huge statement. I agree that he is a classy kid who will be the new record holder for Viper games played but I don't agree with the "best C". While probably a very good Captain is he superior to any of the preceding Captains? They have all been very good in their own ways, either vocally or just setting a good example. Rampone, Crowell or Kraus should get special recognition as they Captained their squads to winning the National Championship. Respectfully, the Vipers have not got anywhere near there with Jagger. I may change my mind if they progress far into the playoffs this year however think they are far too inconsistent. I do concede that Jaggers's number may be retired for being an excellent Viper, being local, and for wearing the jersey longer than anyone prior. A lot of this decision will be at the opinion of the new owners. We will see...
