Vernon Vipers captain/forward Jagger Williamson played in career
game #229 tonight in the Vipers 5-4 victory over the visiting Nanaimo Clippers. Williamson ties former Vernon Vipers forward Rob Short for second on Vernon junior hockey's all-time games played list. Short a Vernon product played with the Vernon Vipers from 2005-2010 was the first Vernon junior hockey player to have his jersey retired. Short's jersey #20 was retired in September of 2010. Williamson is only four games behind former Vernon Lakers/Vipers forward Garth Gartner (1994-1998) for first on Vernon junior hockey's all-time games played list.
Williamson scored his 9th goal of the season at 6:47 of the 2nd period tonight, passing former Vernon junior hockey greats Dusty McLellan Vernon Lakers 1990-92, Andrew Coburn-Vernon Vipers 2005-07, Darcy George-Vernon Lakers 1993-95 & Bob Wensley-Vernon Lakers 1982-84 with his 52nd career junior hockey goal. All five players were tied in career goals with 51 career goals each prior to tonight's game. Williamson with his 52nd career junior hockey goal is now 38th on Vernon junior hockey's all-time goals list. Williamson is now tied in career goals (52) with former Vernon junior hockey greats Dustin Whitecotton-Vernon Lakers/Vipers 1993-96 & John Neeld-Vernon Vikings 1978-79.
Williamson recorded his 28th point of the season tonight, passes former Vernon Lakers forward Jason Elders 1989-91 Both players were tied in career junior hockey total points with 169 prior to tonight's game. Williamson with his 170th career junior hockey total point is now 16th on Vernon junior hockey's all-time total points list.
