Former Vipers Martin, Shiplo, Shortrdge & Tufto Earn ECAC All-Academic Honors:

The Quinnipiac Bobcats place at least 20 on the League's All-Academic Team, including four former Vernon Vipers. forward Craig Martin, defenceman Luke Shiplo, goaltender Andrew Shortridge & forward Odeen Tufto.

Martin is in his fourth season at Quinnipiac University played parts of two seasons with the Vipers (2012-2014) was traded to Alberni Valley along with future considerations for Jared Wilson on October 1st.  In 46 career games with Vernon Martin collected (10-goals-13-assists-23-points)

Shortridge is in his third season with Quinnipiac University played one season in Vernon (2015-16). In 44 games with the Vipers Shortridge went 19-25 with two shutouts posting a 3.15 GAA

Tufto is in his second season at Quinnipiac University played one season in Vernon (2015-16) before leaving the team the following off-season to join the United States Hockey League (USHL) Fargo

Bobcats Place at Least 20 on League's All-Academic Team for Seventh Straight Season

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team continues to succeed both on and off the ice as 21 Bobcats were named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
 
At least 20 Bobcats were honored for a seventh straight season while the Bobcats had 21 honored for a second straight year.

In addition to making the all-academic team, senior Bo Pieper (Roseville, Minnesota) was named as Quinnipiac's Commissioner's List honoree, showcasing the program's top scholar from the 2017-18 season. He was previously honored as the ECAC Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year.
 
To be eligible for the all-academic team, a student-athlete must earn a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or have a GPA over 3.00 over the past three semesters.
 
Kevin McKernan (Millbury, Massachusetts) and Pieper were each honored on the all-academic team for a fourth consecutive season. They are among the 29 student-athletes in ECAC Hockey that were named to the all-academic team for four straight seasons.
 
The Bobcats also had six players earn all-academic recognition for a third straight season, including four juniors and two seniors.
 
Six more players earned all-academic honors for the second time, with five sophomores making up the list for Quinnipiac.
 
Rounding out the 21 honorees, the Bobcats had seven players recognized by the league office for the first time in their careers.
