The 7-3-0-2 Vernon Vipers are coming off a 3-2 loss Wednesday in Wenatchee. Tonight is the second and final meeting of the season vs Nanaimo. Tonight's the first of a three game home stand, the Snakes will play five of their next six games at home. Tonight is just the Vipers third home game of the season. Tonight is also the second of four straight games vs an Island-Mainland team. Tonight is the Snakes second game in three nights. Vernon is tied in points with 1st place West Kelowna but sit 2nd in the Interior Division with the Warriors having more wins. The Vipers are three points up on Penticton/Wenatchee and a single point up on 3rd place Trail. Vernon has five games in hand over the 4th place Penticton Vees. Forward Jesse Lansdell is serving his second game of a four game suspension. The Vipers have rotated goaltenders since the first game of the season, if this continues tonight, Ty Taylor should get the start between the pipes for the Snakes.

The 5-4-0-1 Nanaimo Clippers make their first and only regular season visit to Kal Tire Place are coming off a 3-2 loss Saturday to the visiting Victoria Grizzlies. The Clippers have just one win in their last ten visits to Vernon. Nanaimo's last regular season win in Vernon was a 4-3 double overtime victory on Friday, January 16th 2009. This is the second and final regular season meeting with the Vipers. Since a 4-3 loss September 30th at home to Vernon the Shipmen have gone 1-1-0-0. Tonight's the first of a three game road trip for the Clippers who are 2-1 away from home. The Shipmen have just one win in their last five games. Nanaimo sits 3rd in the Island Division are three points up on 4th place Alberni Valley, are three points back of 2nd place Victoria and four points back of Division leading Powell River.
