Former Viper Collins Named Hockey East Weekly Top Performer:

Former Vernon Vipers forward, Mike Collins Scored a pair of power play goals in Merrimack's 3-2 OT win on Saturday. Collins is one of twenty players named in this week's Hockey East weekly top performers. Collins in his second season with the Warriors played two seasons in Vernon (2008-2010) winning back to back Royal Bank Cups.

Merrimack is the only unbeaten team in the country following a three-point weekend against Northeastern…The Warriors trailed 2-0 on Saturday but rallied behind a pair of power play goals from Mike Collins (Boston, Mass.), before Ryan Flanigan scored the winner short-handed in overtime…Flanigan, who leads Merrimack in goals, assists, points, shots, and plus/minus, has points in every game this season and 15 straight dating back to last year. He has 39 points in his last 31 games…Merrimack has captured season series from Northeastern and Vermont and leads Maine 1-0…Collins and Flanigan are tied for the league lead in power play points, while Collins is tied for the lead in power play goals…The OT win was Merrimack's second straight OT win at Matthews Arena…Merrimack's penalty kill is tops in Hockey East at 91.3% and is third nationally…The defense tops the nation allowing 10 goals in eight games (1.25 per game)…Joe Cannata leads Hockey East in GAA, save percentage and winning percentage and ranks third, fifth and first nationally in those categories.
