Of course players can sign to play anywhere they chose but I think it shows a complete lack of integrity to commit to a team and then sign with another team. It is better Bitonti did not come as he probably would only make a commitment until something better comes along. How many of the other recruited players will find greener pastures?

Vipers have committed to a lot a players and then cut them. Everyone making best decision for themselves as it should be. I’m guessing he wants ice time. He’ll likely get
More in Olds than he will with Vipers. Given their history over the last few years, their commitment to players means nothing.

It goes both ways. Cookie can send kids packing if he locates a kid he likes more thinks will perform better.

Well I guess committing and signing with a team before the season starts doesn't mean anything if he's signed with Olds. This new independent league BS just sucks, no more control over your team or players anymore.

This doesn't happen often but has happened in the past. I do recall in 2024 Connor Pankratz had committed to the Vipers for the 2024-25 season, but decided to sign with the Kelowna Rockets.

For whatever reason, Bitonti decided to not come to Vernon and choose Olds instead.

It seems like ever since the NCAA made the big rule change two seasons ago, it has really screwed up junior hockey with players coming and going from team to team.
