Ex Vipers Sim, Hayes & Ward Compete For Centennial Cup:

Former Vernon Vipers forward Lane Sim, defenceman Maverick Hayes and defenceman Sam Ward will compete for a National Championship. All three players will be playing in the 2026 Centennial Cup in Summerside, P.E.I.

Centennial Cup begins May 7th in Summerside | Maritime Junior Hockey League

Sim is in his first season with the Maritime Junior Hockey League Summerside Capitals. In 16 regular season games, Sim collected (3-goals-7-assists-10-points). In 14 playoff games, Sim collected (2-goals-2-assists-4-points).

Sim started the 2025-26 season with the Vernon Vipers. Sim attended the Vernon Vipers training camp before making the teams opening day roster. Sim left the Vernon Vipers December 31st 2025 to join the Summerside Capitals.

Hayes started the 2025-26 season with the Vernon Vipers. Hayes played parts of the previous three seasons with the CCHL Pembroke Lumber Kings.

Hayes attended the Vernon Vipers training camp in August 2025, made opening night roster, was no longer listed on the teams roster in late January 2026 signed with the Summerside Capitals February 5th 2026. In 26 games with the Vernon Vipers, Hayes collected (1-goal-3-assists-4-points).

Ward is in his first season with the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Flin Flon Bombers. The Bombers signed Ward October 17th 2025. In 35 regular season games, Ward collected (8-goals-15-assists-23-points) In 3 playoff games, Ward collected (2-goals-0-assists-2-points).

Ward split the 2024-25 season with the Western Hockey League Wenatchee Wild, BCHL Vernon Vipers & Victoria Grizzlies.

The Vernon Vipers signed Ward November 13th 2024. The Vernon Vipers traded Ward to the Victoria Grizzlies January 4th 2025 for future considerations. In 10 games with the Vernon Vipers, Ward collected (0-goals-3-assists-3-points).
