Godard played three seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Lethbridge Hurricanes from 1997-2000 before signing his first professional contract with the American Hockey League Louisville Panthers in 2000. Godard played two seasons in the American Hockey League before signing with the New York Islanders in 2002. Godard played eight seasons in the NHL with New York, Calgary & Pittsburgh from 2002-2011. Godard retired from professional hockey in 2012.
Godard was an Assistant Coach with the 2013-14 Salmon Arm Silverbacks & 2014-15 Vernon Vipers.

On the coaching topic big news heard Jason has finally been fired! Hope it is true from a very reliable source!
Let's hope so but his mug shot is still on the Vipers home page.
Confirmed he has officially been away from the team since last Monday not on the bench and team was notified Monday!
