Nineteen years ago today (March 19th 2005) Vernon Vipers forward Matt

Swerhone scored the only goal of the game at 7:00 in double overtime, giving the Vernon Vipers a 1-0 double overtime victory over the Penticton Vees in Game 2 of the opening round of the playoffs. Jon Olthuis made 27 saves for the win/shutout, while Corey Milan made 43 saves in the loss in front of 2,423 fans at the Vernon Multiplex. Vernon would eventually go on to sweep the best of seven series 4 games to 0.
