Former Vernon Vipers forward Josh Prokop scored at 1:47 into overtime,
giving the University of Alberta Golden Bears a 5-4 overtime victory over the University of Calgary Dinos forcing Game 3 in the Canada West Final.

Prokop is in his second season at the University of Alberta. In 28 games this season, Prokop collected (18-goals-19-assists-37-points).
Prokop played three seasons with the Western Hockey League Calgary Hitmen before committing to the University of Alberta Golden Bears for the 2021-22 season. Prokop was captain of the Hitmen in his final season of Junior hockey.
Prokop was recruited and committed to the Vernon Vipers in 2017. Prokop played parts of two seasons in Vernon from 2017-2018 left the Vipers September 26th 2018 for the Western Hockey League Calgary Hitmen. Prokop returned to Vernon in 2020. With the Western Hockey League 2020-21 season on hold due to COVID-19 the Vipers signed Prokop October 29th 2020. Prokop played in six exhibition games with the Vipers at the 2020 Okanagan Cup. Prokop returned to the Hitmen in March 2021. In 60 games with the Vipers, Prokop collected (23-goals-22-assists-45-points).
