Derrick is in his third season with the West Kelowna Warriors. In 37 games this season, Derrick went 24-11 with a 3.02 GAA

Derrick attended the Vernon Vipers spring camp & training camp in 2017 & 2018 was an affiliated player with the 2018-19 Vernon Vipers. Derrick committed to and signed with the West Kelowna Warriors in September 2019.
