Wow, What is happening with Vernon Vipers ? Is there an attitude change happening within the dressing room of the vipers. It some old resentment becoming an internal problem or is the vipers just tired and need a rest. Only the coach knows for sure and I am sure he will not let politics get in the way and do the right thing. Right, Jason, coach old buddy.
I watched the Vipers-Spruce Kings game on the computer tonight.
This wasn't much of a game if your a Vipers fan. It was all Spruce Kings from start to finish. PG carried the better of the play, had more puck possession, zone time and outplayed the Snakes for most of the game. The Vipers had trouble gaining any traction, either couldn't make a pass or turned over pucks, had trouble getting through the neutral zone. Ethan David kept Vernon in the game or this could have easily been double digits. Prince George was the better team and fully deserved the win. The Vipers with way too many penalties, seemed to be fighting the officials at times. I have never seen Jason McKee lose his cool like he did tonight and go nuts at the officials. The Vipers also lost their cool as frustration boiled over in the 3rd period as the wheels fell off.

What happened to the Vipers? After struggling and having one of their worst seasons in franchise history at the start of the season, the Snakes turned their season around after the trade deadline and were one of the hottest teams. The past few games Vernon has struggled and not playing good hockey at the worst possible time of the season to go cold. Have the Vipers played too much hockey the past month with too many players out of the lineup? Or is this team just not that good and it's starting to show again?
The Vipers have a long bus ride home before a quick turn around with a game Sunday afternoon vs Cranbrook.
Lets face it, we were all teased by the Vipers when they went on their winning streak back in January and early February. There are probably only 3 or 4 players that value a roster spot on this team not including the 2 goaltenders who have been the only bright spot on this roster. The disconnect in the dressing room is nothing new according to many billet families. Its obvious there is no respect between coach and players and that's why we are where we are today. We can only hope the Glenn's will make a change but that's highly unlikely
Lucky for the Vipers two of the next three games are against the cannon fodder Centennials. Has there ever been a more terrible team in the history of the league?
There have been several teams in the BCJHL and BCHL who have had terrible records. 1969-70 New West. Royals 2-44-2. 1978-79 Delta Suns 6-56-0. They gave up an average of 8.5 goals per game. 1980-81 Chilliwack Colts 1-34-0 when they dropped out without finishing the sked.
Back to back 1986-87 and 1987-88 Summerland Buckaroos. 5-45-2 and 6-44-1.
1994-95 Royal City Outlaws. 4-56-0.
I went to many games of the 1956-57 Saskatoon Quakers of the SJHL. 1-50-0. And they only won that game when Melville brought a Midget rep team to play them once.
