Rockets Name Former Vernon Lakers/Vernon Vipers MacNevin New Assistant Coach:

The Western Hockey League Kelowna Rockets have named former

Vernon Lakers/Vernon Vipers defenceman Josh MacNevin new Assistant Coach.

Rockets hire Josh MacNevin as assistant coach – Kelowna Rockets

MacNevin has spent the past six seasons as an Assistant Coach with the Western Hockey League Lethbridge Hurricanes.

MacNevin played four seasons at Providence College from 1996-2000 before signing his first professional contract with the American Hockey League Albany River Rats. MacNevin played parts of three seasons in the ECHL, AHL & WCHL from 2000-2002 before playing professional hockey in Italy. From 2002-2013 MacNevin played with nine different teams in seven different leagues retired from professional hockey in 2013. MacNevin got into coaching in 2013 was an Assistant Coach in 2013-14 at the University of Lethbridge. MacNevin was selected 101 overall in Round 4 at the 1996 NHL Draft by the New Jersey Devils. 

MacNevin played two seasons in Vernon (1994-1996). MacNevin played with the 1994-95 Vernon Lakers and the 1995-96 Vernon Vipers. The Vernon Lakers changed names to the Vernon Vipers in the summer of 1995. In 107 games with the Vernon Lakers & Vernon Vipers, MacNevin collected (15-goals-63-assists-78-points).
