Reading Royals Add Ex Viper Voltin To Teams Protected List:

The ECHL announced their protected list as submitted by each of its member

teams. This is the first of a several-step process in which ECHL teams use to reserve the rights to ECHL contracted players for the 2021-22 season. The ECHL Reading Royals have twenty two players on their protected list, one player being former Vernon Vipers forward Luke Voltin.

Voltin never played a single game with the Royals last season. Voltin played four seasons at Northern Michigan University from 2016-2020 before signing his first professional contract with the ECHL Reading Royals August 31st 2020. According to Voltin's player profile, he didn't play hockey last season.

Voltin played one season in Vernon with the 2014-15 Vernon Vipers. Voltin asked for a trade in the summer of 2015. The Vipers traded Voltin to the Langley Rivermen August 27th 2015 for future considerations. In 44 games with the Vipers, Voltin collected (10-goals-16-assists-26-points). Voltin played in the BCHL with Vernon, Penticton & Langley.
