Valk played last year with the Trail Smoke Eaters. In 17 games, Valk collected (0-goals-2-assists-2-points).

Valk attended the Vernon Vipers training camp in 2017 was later released/cut before joining the Chilliwack Chiefs for the 2017-18 season. The Chiefs traded Valk to Trail November 13th 2020.
