Former Vernon Laker Salmond Wins Gold Medal:

Former Vernon Lakers forward Scott Salmond won

Gold on Sunday at the World Hockey Championships after a 3-2 overtime victory over Finland.

Salmond is Team Canada's senior vice-president. Salmond has been involved with Team Canada from 2001-2021.

Salmond played parts of two years in Vernon (1988-1990) before being traded to the Kelowna Spartans during the 1989-90 season. In 52 games with the Vernon Lakers, Salmond collected (7-goals-26-assists-33-points).
