The American Hockey League Rockford IceHogs have reassigned former Vernon Vipers forward Liam Coughlin to the ECHL Indy Fuel.
Coughlin spent the past four seasons at the University of Vermont, before signing his first professional contract with the IceHogs May 19 2019.
Coughlin started the 2019-20 season in Rockford but never played a game with the IceHogs was assigned to the Indy Fuel September 27th 2019. In 39 games with the Fuel Coughlin had (6-goals-11-assists-17-points) before being recalled to the IceHogs January 31 2020. Coughlin went pointless in two games with the IceHogs before returning to Indy. The ECHL season was cancelled due to COVID-19
Coughlin played two seasons in Vernon (2013-2015) In 107 games with the Vipers collected (38-goals-67-assists-105-points).
Coughlin was drafted 130th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in Round 5 at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. The Oilers traded Coughlin to the Chicago Blackhawks on July 6th 2015 for Anders Nilsson.

INDIANAPOLIS – The American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs announced Saturday that they have reassigned Josh McArdle and Liam Coughlin to the Indy Fuel.
McArdle, 25, has appeared in 41 games for the Fuel this season earning one goal and eight assists. Signing a one-year contract with the IceHogs in May, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound defenseman split his first professional season between the Indy Fuel and IceHogs skating in 33 games in a Fuel uniform.
Coughlin, 25, signed with the IceHogs in May before being assigned to the Fuel before the ECHL season. A 5th-round draft pick by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Coughlin has skated in 31 games with the Fuel this season, tallying five goals and seven assists.
